Hi Folks:
The insurance that a mortgage company buys when it believes the owners of a house no longer have insurance on the property is called “force-placed insurance”. Double check your home insurance and/or flood policy renewal date. Don't let a mistake cost you a bundle.

Hi Folks:
“No Problem” Claim Service. When insured by Auto-Owners, you do not have to worry about reporting a claim to someone who doesn’t care. To report a claim, all you do is call your local independent Auto-Owners agent—someone you know and trust. Your agent will then set your claim in motion by notifying the local Auto-Owners claim office on your behalf. Auto-Owners claims professionals will then handle your claim to conclusion.

Hi Folks:
Florida has more sinkholes than any other state in the nation. Section 627.706(2)(a), Florida Statutes requires authorized insurers to cover catastrophic ground cover collapse, but damage, outside a catastrophic ground cover collapse, caused by a sinkhole may not be covered by your policy if it does not specifically include sinkhole coverage. Come in or call us and let an agent at J.W. Edens and Company, Inc. explain all the details of the new sinkhole coverage for your property.

Hi Folks:
From the Associated Press(1-30-11)  FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- "The state's largest private property insurer wants to hike rates by an average of 28 percent.

State Farm Florida Insurance says premiums need to go up to cover the risk in the state.

Florida has dodged a direct hit by hurricanes for the past five years, but the company says it's suffered a spike in non-catastrophic claims, including hundreds of millions of dollars in losses due to sinkholes.

State Farm received approval for a 28 percent increase in the average policy in 2009 and another 6.6 percent increase last year. It covers nearly 700,000 homes.

The rate request goes before the Office of Insurance Regulation on Feb. 15."

Hi Folks:
Flood insurance is NOT included in your homeowners insurance policy. Flood protection is a SEPARATE insurance policy for your home or business. Don't get caught "under water" with no protection.

Hi Folks:
With the 2010 hurricane season winding down some home owners may have the tendacy to let their property insurance lapse. Remember, your personal liability for a home or business should be protected at all times. Your family's financial future could be at stake.
